So. During the time of This Vintage Life one of the items that has remained consistently popular is the crocheted blanket, afghan, granny squares; call it what you will.
They always sell fairly swiftly and more than anything else, they're the item I get most requests for.
So just recently when sorting and organising my pictures for the website (we all have to do a bit of housekeeping from time to time, don't we?) I realised just how many 'grannies' have passed through my hands in four and a half years. And it's a LOT!
About the same time, I also had an email from a customer in Australia (Hello, Lynn!) who attached a lovely photograph of her cat reclining on the blanket she had just purchased from the other side of the world!
The funny thing is I go over them with a fine tooth comb to make sure they are hair and fluff free before I buy them...ho hum! Sadly, the picture has disappeared from my file so I can't share it here.
On that note, I have two very large blankets here that are a bit err...hirsute. Now, I wouldn't normally purchase these as I said but as they came in a lot of other things, I took them on.
If anybody is interested in them, I can offer them for £15.00 each plus £4.50 postage which for their size is considerably less than they would be offered for on the website if in tip-top condition. Apart from their hairy problem, they are in great condition; no holes, damage, repairs that I can see.
They are so big, they'd be suitable for using as a bedspread; indeed one has shaped corners , presumably to go around the edge of the mattress.
They will be washed and de-haired as much as is physically possible before being sent out. You might not even notice them!
These are for you if you're the sort of person (like me) who allows your pets to lounge about on the furniture or maybe you just want a cheap blanket and aren't too fussy!! Either way, drop me an email and I'll let you know the postage cost and maybe even a discount for buying both. The final two images below are what you'd be buying.
